Keynote: Facing the Real Cyber Security Risks for your NFP

Cyber security is a real risk as organisations become increasingly reliant on online and cloud-based systems.  The cost of something going wrong in this space or the embarrassment of a data leak could effectively put an organisation out of action. Few of us have sufficient policies or systems in place to protect against the risk. Philip’s detailed IT security and controls knowledge is complemented by his auditing, internal audit and fraud background, which assists him in understanding the business issues related to IT and the development of practical solutions to issues.     Philip Whitmore, Partner KPMG IT Advisory

9.55 am

Keynote: Demystifying the Finance Function

We all know that the finance function is critical to success and yet many within our organisations feel we speak a different language. They are unclear on what the accounts team does and how it supports their work. Clear and pertinent communication is they key to demystifying the accounts function and helping our colleagues and clients read the numbers and understand how accounting underpins their work.  Martz Witty, Martz Group

Keynote: Rethinking Technology Governance –  Big Data, Security and Privacy.

With technology changing so rapidly many NFPs find that technology governance struggles to keep up. This non-technical session looks the current and emerging risks your organisation needs to address; together with a minimum policy set you need to do so. It separates the Board’s concerns from the operational issues with a particular focus on data sharing, consent, limits of confidentiality and privacy. Using examples from non-profits in every reporting tier delegates will be taken through an evaluation checklist they can use immediately with their own policy framework.   Hazel Jennings, Dale Jennings Associates
